Birds of Bedford 2013
An artist in residence at The Higgins Bedford, in collaboration with Bedford Creative Arts
Birds of Bedford referenced the Museum’s fine collection of eighteenth century porcelain bird tureens and figurines, and the unexpected parallels that exist between them and the Museum’s ornithology collections. Combining de-constructed ceramic birds purchased from charity shops and car boot sales with feathers, the sculptures combine the materials of the real with those of the representational.
